FAQs
Does this run locally in my browser?
Yes. All processing happens on your device—no files are uploaded to any server.
What’s the difference between the three modes?
- By Range: type pages like 1-3,5,8-10. Creates outputs per range.
- By Pages: click thumbnails to select specific pages.
- By Size: split into chunks by target size using KB/MB.
How do I combine my selection into one PDF?
In By Range or By Pages, click Make single PDF… to build a combined file, then use Download single PDF.
Why can a chunk exceed my target size?
If a single page is very large (e.g., image-heavy), it may exceed the chosen limit by itself. You’ll still get all outputs—there’s also an inline warning when this happens.
What range formats are accepted?
Use comma-separated pages and ranges. Examples: 3, 1-4, 1-3,5,8-10. Out-of-range values are ignored.
Is page order preserved?
Yes. Split outputs keep the original order. When building a single PDF from a selection, pages are ordered ascending by page number.
Any limits on file size or page count?
Limits depend on your device/browser memory. Very large PDFs may render thumbnails more slowly.
